Project Recycle is a large-scale project set up by Ynysybwl Regeneration Partnership in partnership with Pontypridd High School.

Project Recycle is a large-scale project set up by Ynysybwl Regeneration Partnership in partnership with Pontypridd High School that’s core aim is to tackle the plastic epidemic that’s currently felt worldwide.
Project Recycle is led by the young people of the school where ‘PETE 1’ plastic bottles are collected, cleaned, and crushed, before being taken to local manufacturing company Linear Plastics Ltd to be fed through their granulator. Once granulated the shredded pieces of plastic are then brought back to Pontypridd High School and dehydrated before being melted and turned in to a reel of recycled plastic filament, ready to be attached to our 3D printers.
It is at this stage where the young people, through the use of CAD software design, will create and print their own products for market sale.
